The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schneider leaves Madden with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Schneider.
Madden wants to clinch.

Schneider closes the distance and clinches.
Madden tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Madden jumps guard but Schneider turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Micah Madden. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Schneider ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Schneider no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Madden lands a couple of digs.
Madden wants to get up but he can't break Schneider's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Schneider has control of Madden's left arm, preventing Madden from doing any damage.
