Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Alexis Payne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Regin Atkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Alexis Payne!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Regin Atkins!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, James Atkins and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Atkins fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Payne avoids it really well and circles away.
Atkins has his takedown stuffed

and Payne counters with a single leg into guard. Atkins didn't expect that.

Payne drops back looking for a leg! Atkins is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Atkins manages to kick Payne off! Payne jumps back into Atkins's guard.
Payne won't allow Atkins to sweep him here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Atkins wants to improve his position but instead Payne has moved into half guard.
Payne has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Still in half guard, Payne seems content to control.

Payne is looking for a kimura here.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Atkins can do anything to dispel that myth.

Payne is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Atkins defends it well.
Payne prevents Atkins from improving his position.

Atkins pushes Payne off looking to stand but Payne dives back in and keeps control.
Atkins is looking for a sweep. Payne is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Payne decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Atkins has Payne up against the cage in a clinch.

Atkins jumps guard and drags Payne to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Atkins is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Atkins is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Atkins has his foot on Payne's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Payne works his way back into a safe position though.
Atkins has momentary wrist control but Payne slips an elbow through the middle.
Payne trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Payne postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Payne cracks Atkins with a solid left hand.
Payne stops Atkins from standing up.
Payne really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Payne is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Atkins manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Payne manages to get himself to full guard.

Atkins trying to control the position from guard on top but Payne is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Atkins stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Payne swivels though and keeps the full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Alexis Payne will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Atkins shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Payne sprawls well. Payne wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Atkins gets slowly back to his feet.
Atkins shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Payne as he jumps to the side.

As Atkins tries to get set, Payne tries to push him back and clinch up but Atkins manages to avoid the attempt.
Alexis Payne has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Regin Atkins.

Atkins has Payne up against the cage in a clinch.

Atkins tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Payne swivels and escapes.
Payne lands a nice looking kick to the body. Atkins takes a step back to recover.

Atkins shoots in and gets a takedown into Payne's guard.
Payne pulls Atkins in close to his closed guard and prevents Atkins from doing any damage or advancing position.
Atkins looking to pass the guard.
Atkins wants to control from the top but Payne keeps moving.

Payne wants to stand but Atkins is controlling the position.
Atkins slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Atkins is continuing to stall.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Nice sprawl there from Payne as Atkins shoots in.
Payne seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.

Atkins gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Atkins gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Payne scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Atkins manages to mount him!
Atkins wants to take his opponent's back but Payne doesn't allow it.
Atkins breaks from Payne's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Payne takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Atkins fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Payne in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.


Payne is rocked!

Atkins quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Atkins but it's paid off an Payne is forced to tap! Nice work by Atkins.
