The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cabrera tries to close the distance and clinch but Rhodes swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Rhodes has his foot on Cabrera's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Cabrera works his way back into a safe position though.
Rhodes will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Cabrera accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rhodes can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Cabrera controls the pace.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rhodes is trying to hold Cabrera in close to prevent damage but Cabrera has managed to pass into half guard.

Cabrera swats away the attempt to clinch by Rhodes.

Cabrera bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Rhodes is rocked!
