The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saunders moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Gauthier dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Gauthier bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Gauthier stuffs the takedown attempt from Saunders . Saunders gets slowly back to his feet.
Saunders swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Gauthier counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Gauthier takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Saunders closes the distance and clinches up with Gauthier, looking for a takedown. Saunders pushes Gauthier against the cage but Gauthier circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Saunders swings and misses with a hook to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gauthier ducks right into an uppercut from Saunders .
Saunders 's jab looks to have found its range, popping Gauthier under the eye.

Gauthier rushes Saunders and presses him up against the cage.

Gauthier breaks the clinch.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Saunders , as that shot connected.
Nice takedown defense from Gauthier. No joy for Saunders on that attempt.
Gauthier is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.

Saunders lands a nice shot to the body.

Saunders sizes up Gauthier with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
