The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Solomin lands a head shot.
Solomin throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Solomin paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Solomin's corner calls for a 1-2. Solomin obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Nice shot lands for Solomin.
Solomin rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and DeSalvo counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Solomin has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes DeSalvo off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Solomin drops DeSalvo with a beautiful combination! DeSalvo stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Solomin is looking for the KO!

It looks like Albert DeSalvo has been cut.
Solomin lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

DeSalvo is rocked!
DeSalvo looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Vassily Solomin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Solomin, as that shot connected.
Oh DeSalvo is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
DeSalvo avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
DeSalvo seems to have got his legs back now.
DeSalvo looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Solomin is fending him off so far but DeSalvo persists. Nope, Solomin circles away and we're back to standing.
Solomin has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as DeSalvo is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Solomin lands a jab to DeSalvo's midsection.

A left and a right from Solomin both land. Nice combination.
Solomin rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but DeSalvo moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
DeSalvo changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
The crowd cheers as Solomin lands an impressive looking overhand right. DeSalvo doesn't seem phased though.

DeSalvo drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!

DeSalvo has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Solomin is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. DeSalvo yanks on the arm and Solomin is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by DeSalvo.
