Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, John Lennon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Walton Kunz!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lennon lands a head shot.
Lennon just misses with a punch to the body.
Lennon cracks the inside of Kunz's front leg.
Lennon avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Lennon misses with an uppercut. Kunz saw that one coming.
Lennon ducks under a wild hook from Kunz.
Lennon has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Lennon - that will leave a mark!
Kunz takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Lennon works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Kunz is rocked!
It looks like Walton Kunz has been cut.
Lennon scores with a shot to the body.
Lennon misses with a double jab.
Kunz appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Lennon pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kunz slips under a jab.
Lennon thumps Kunz with a low kick.
Kunz pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Lennon throws a hook but Kunz blocks it.
Kunz loads up on a big right hand but Lennon slips the punch.
Lennon scores with a hook.
Kunz is still on wobbly legs! Can Lennon finish him?
Kunz waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Lennon.
Lennon swings for the body but Kunz moves out of range.
A good leg kick by Lennon.
Kunz seems to have recovered his senses.
Kunz misses with a looping right.
Lennon appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Lennon feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Kunz sprawling to the canvas! Kunz rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Lennon finish him?!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A nice inside leg kick there by Lennon. That's going to slow Kunz down.
Kunz looks up at the clock. Bad move! Lennon lands a right hand from hell, dropping Kunz. Lennon pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Lennon!
John Lennon tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
