Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Strut Buster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Johnstone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnstone is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Living is a Problem. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Strut Buster!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jimmy Johnstone!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Yukihiro Shimada and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Buster throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Johnstone stuffs the takedown attempt from Buster. Buster gets slowly back to his feet.
Buster tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Johnstone swivels and escapes.
Buster misses with a takedown attempt - Johnstone sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Strut Buster. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Johnstone throws a nice looking combination but Buster bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Buster misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
A combination from Johnstone does no damage.
Buster throws a right and a left that Johnstone avoids nicely.
The fight stays on the outside here - Buster looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Johnstone blocks a head kick by Buster.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Johnstone uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

and Johnstone lands a stunning uppercut that sends Buster to the mat!
Oh Buster is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Johnstone keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Johnstone lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Johnstone tries to pass the half guard into mount. Buster knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Buster tries to roll over but Johnstone keeps him under control.
Buster wants to control but Johnstone is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Johnstone is looking for a kimura but Buster is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Johnstone to get the leverage.
Buster is trying to maintain the position but Johnstone is very close to passing his half guard.
Buster seems to have got his legs back now.
Johnstone working the head and body with strikes.
Johnstone looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Johnstone passes to full mount!

Johnstone working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Buster holds on to Johnstone around his waist, trying desperately to prevent any attacks.
Johnstone controlling from mount.

Johnstone is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Buster can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Johnstone looks gassed!
Buster really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Buster is working hard here to advance position.
Buster tries to hold on but Johnstone pushes him away.

Buster keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Johnstone content just to control the position here.
Buster's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Johnstone looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Johnstone tries to control but Buster wriggling away.
Buster tries to hold on but Johnstone postures up.
Buster regains half guard.
Buster trying to control from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Buster gets back to full guard.

Johnstone drops back looking for a leg! Buster is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Buster manages to kick Johnstone off! Johnstone jumps back into Buster's guard.
Johnstone content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Buster has control of Johnstone's left arm, preventing Johnstone from doing any damage.
Buster can't keep his opponent in guard - Johnstone advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Johnstone is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Johnstone not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Johnstone works his way into full mount!
Johnstone wants to control the pace but Buster is squirming around nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jimmy Johnstone dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Buster tries for a takedown but Johnstone circles away easily

and Johnstone counters with a leg kick then a big left hand that sends Buster down! Johnstone is looking to finish but Buster is intelligently defending himself.
Buster trying to keep a closed guard but Johnstone is proving a slippery customer.
Buster striking off his back but it's not causing Johnstone any problems.
Buster keeping moving, preventing Johnstone from controlling successfully.

Johnstone decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Buster has his takedown stuffed
and Johnstone counters with a series of strikes that practically lifts Buster off his feet! He tumbles backwards, his head bouncing off the mat - Johnstone follows up with more strikes before the ref can step in but Buster was out before he hit the floor.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Jimmy Johnstone!
