Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Aiden Rickard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jay Scott has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Aiden Rickard's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Aiden Rickard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jay Scott!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Konstantin Menshow and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scott stuffs the takedown attempt from Rickard. Rickard gets slowly back to his feet.
Scott throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Scott drives through and clinches with Rickard against the cage.

Scott breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Rickard tries to bum rush Scott with a series of wild strikes but Scott uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
No luck for Rickard with that takedown attempt.
Scott tries to clinch there but Rickard circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Scott jabs Rickard right on the nose. Rickard blinks but takes it well.
Jay Scott seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rickard closes this distance looking for a takedown but Scott circles away.
Scott looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

and Rickard counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Scott wants to sweep here but Rickard controlling him for the moment.

Rickard tries to free his leg and advance position but Scott is retaining full guard.

Scott really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rickard. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Scott is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rickard is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Scott is just riding it out for now. Rickard eventually gives up the hold.

Rickard seems to be working for a kimura but Scott defends the submission attempt.

Scott has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Rickard is on him like a limpet, forcing Scott back against the cage.

Rickard tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Scott smiles and moves away.
Scott tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Rickard swivels and escapes.
Rickard moves out of range of the strikes.

A punch lands to the side of Rickard 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Rickard postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Scott is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Rickard, into his guard.


Rickard has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Scott can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Scott tries to stand but Rickard is controlling from the bottom.

Rickard looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Rickard working for a triangle but Scott defends it easily.

Scott stands up from guard. Let's bang!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Scott throws a head kick but Rickard moves out of range.
Scott shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Scott scores with a jab to the body.
Scott connects with a body shot.
Rickard is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight.
Scott tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Rickard counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Scott kicks Rickard off and gets to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jay Scott dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Scott digs a good hook to Rickard's body.
Scott stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Scott wants it to stay on the feet.
Scott ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rickard moves away.

Scott avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Scott wants to get up but he can't break Rickard's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Rickard has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Scott can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Rickard is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Scott must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Rickard has a closed guard, preventing Scott from standing up.

Rickard had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Scott defends it easily.
Scott slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Rickard is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Scott has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Scott prevents Rickard from improving his position.

Scott distracts Rickard with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Scott stands up over Rickard, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Scott tries to stand but Rickard is controlling from the bottom.

Rickard is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Scott is aware though and is defending well.
Scott is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Rickard working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Scott doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Scott manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Scott lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Jay Scott showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!

Scott is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Rickard rather than just go for the knockout.

Rickard closes the distance and clinches.
Rickard is trying to pull guard but Scott turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Rickard blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Rickard tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Scott lands a good knee to the midsection. Rickard won't want to take too many of those.
Rickard is trying to pull guard but Scott has him pressed against the cage.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Scott wants to get back to full guard.
Scott is trying to maintain the position but Rickard is very close to passing his half guard.
Scott is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Rickard is staying active.

Scott is trying to stand.

Rickard is trying for a kimura here. Scott looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Rickard wins by kimura!
