The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circling - Kanagawa throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Petrov misses with a low kick.
A little feinted left hand from Kanagawa on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Petrov takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Petrov blocks a jab.
Petrov fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kanagawa manages to avoid it.
Petrov defending well as Kanagawa loads up on a big left hand.

It looks like Martin Petrov has been cut.
Petrov swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Martin Petrov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kanagawa scores with a sloppy right hand. Petrov should have avoided that one.
Petrov ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

and Kanagawa connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Kanagawa throws a hook to the side of Petrov's head but Petrov sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Petrov shoots in but Kanagawa avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Kanagawa throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Petrov throws a right hand that Kanagawa ducks under and follows up with a left that Kanagawa also avoids with ease.
Kanagawa tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Petrov was well out of range. Poor timing from Kanagawa.

Petrov drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Kanagawa defends it well.

Kanagawa is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Petrov's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Kanagawa connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Petrov scrambles back to his feet.

Petrov lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kanagawa circles away quickly and effectively.

Sloppy strikes from Petrov. Those never looked like landing.
