Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ray Nathan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carl Panzram (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ray Nathan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Carl Panzram!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Radbod Blank and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nathan uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Panzram.
Nathan moves out of range as Panzram strikes.
Nathan gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Panzram counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

and Nathan counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Panzram looks like he's trying to stand up.
Panzram manages to get to full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nathan makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Nathan definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Panzram escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Nathan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Nathan distracts Panzram with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Nathan is working Panzram over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Nathan postures up in Panzram's guard and throws a big left but Panzram blocks it.

Nathan is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Nathan controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Nathan lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Panzram has momentary wrist control but Nathan slips an elbow through the middle.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Panzram can do anything to dispel that myth.

Nathan stands up over Panzram, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Panzram had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Nathan defends it easily.
Panzram is trying to control the position but Nathan postures up.

Panzram is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Panzram has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Nathan can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Nathan shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Panzram pinned against the cage. Panzram gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Panzram would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Nathan displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Panzram throws out the jab.

Panzram swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Nathan.
Panzram tests Nathan's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Carl Panzram showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Panzram might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

It seemed like Panzram was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Nathan dives in for a single leg takedown but Panzram sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Nathan is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Panzram's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.

Panzram lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Panzram.

Nathan shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Nathan was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Panzram tries to escape but Nathan is in control.

Nathan working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Nathan grinds an elbow into Panzram's temple.

Carl Panzram comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Panzram has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
