Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Fausto Ayers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Angus Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Fausto Ayers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Angus Jones!
The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Winston Howard and Ben Watson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ayers pushes Jones up against the cage in a clinch.
Jones tries to score a body lock takedown but Ayers shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Jones misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Ayers.

Ayers decides to pull guard.
Jones forces his way into half guard.

Jones decides to return to a standing position.
Ayers stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Ayers wants it to stay on the feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ayers shoots in for a takedown but Jones shows good takedown defense.

Jones clinches up with Ayers and pushes him back against the cage.

Jones's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Jones jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Ayers walks away with a smile on his face. Jones gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Jones changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Ayers fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Jones dives in for a single leg takedown but Ayers sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Nice takedown defense from Jones. No joy for Ayers on that attempt.
Ayers tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jones sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ayers somewhat.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Ayers.
Jones is looking for the big counter here.
No luck for Ayers with that takedown attempt.
Jones throws a fast counter high kick but Ayers manages to duck under it in time.
Ayers fails with a takedown attempt.
A nice side step and Jones releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Ayers blocks a head kick by Jones.

Ayers tries to keep at a distance but Jones has taken the fight into the clinch.

Jones changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Ayers fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Ayers slips a jab and a cross from Jones.

Ayers closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Jones's guard.
Jones is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Ayers dives into side control.

Ayers controls the position.
Ayers trying to control the action but Jones is working from the bottom.
Ayers will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Ayers has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Ayers shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jones pinned against the cage. Jones gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Ayers changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jones tries to avoid it but Ayers manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jones to the ground. Jones escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fausto Ayers. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Ayers throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Jones lands a slapping body shot.
Jones shoots for a double leg takedown but Ayers sprawls well. He's pushed Jones's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Donk. Jones catches Ayers right on the button with a cross.
Jones looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Jones is breathing heavily.
Jones shoots in and drives through. Ayers sprawls well.
Ayers looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Jones decides to pull guard.

Jones is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Jones avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Ayers gets to his feet. Jones looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Jones dives in for a single leg takedown but Ayers sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

and Ayers holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Ayers gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Jones.

A short body shot lands from Ayers as the two fighters clinch.

Ayers creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Jones looking to slow down the pace here.

Ayers pulls Jones into guard.

Ayers pushes Jones off and scrambles back to his feet.

Ayers fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Jones, pushing him back against the cage.

Ayers successfully pulls guard.
Jones won't allow Ayers to get back to his feet.

Jones postures up in Ayers's guard and throws a big left but Ayers blocks it.
Jones wants to stand but Ayers is controlling his posture from full guard.
Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Ayers is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Jones looking to sit in guard and control but Ayers gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!



Jones clinches with his opponent.

Jones escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Jones wants to clinch but Ayers slips to the side
and Ayers counters with a two punch combo.
Jones is trying hard to land a takedown here. Ayers sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Ayers is looking to counter the offense by Jones and move into the clinch.

Ayers feints and as Jones raises his hands in defense, Ayers changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Jones wants to hit a switch here but Ayers passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Jones there!
Jones tries to reverse the position but Ayers maintains control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
You get the feeling that Jones really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Jones tries to lock up and control but Ayers gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Jones takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Ayers cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Ayers goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Jones is on top in guard.

Ayers wants to stand up but Jones is controlling him.
Ayers controls Jones momentarily but Jones frees himself.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jones wants to control from the top but Ayers keeps moving.
Ayers trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Ayers is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jones preventing the sweep.

Jones decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Ayers is looking to clinch but Jones is avoiding it.
Ayers tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Jones manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Jones drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Ayers defends it well.
Horrible takedown attempt by Ayers or perhaps it was just good defense by Jones, which made it look bad.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Ayers has taken the fight to the clinch.
Ayers wants to take the fight to the mat but Jones manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Jones is looking to take this one to the mat.

Jones breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Jones shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Ayers sprawls well. Ayers wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jones gets slowly back to his feet.
Fausto Ayers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Angus Jones.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Jones misses with a two punch combination.

and Ayers counters with a left and a right that stings Jones.

And that's the end of the fight!
Fausto Ayers showed his dominance in that final round.
