Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jim Jim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Damron Davidson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jim Jim has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jim Jim!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Damron Davidson!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Anthony Taglia and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jim circles away from the clinch attempt

and Jim counters with a takedown into side control.

Jim goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Davidson has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Jim but great work by Davidson.
Davidson laying and praying for a moment but Jim takes advantage and regains half guard.
Jim is refusing to be controlled, as Davidson sits in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Davidson is looking to stall here but Jim recovers full guard.
Jim is pulling down on Davidson's head. It's preventing any offense from Davidson, at least for the moment.

Davidson drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Jim dives on top into guard.

Davidson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Jim drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Davidson manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Jim has Davidson in his guard.

Jim really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Jim will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Davidson is looking to work some ground and pound but Jim has wrist control.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Davidson has gone for a leg lock! Jim slips out almost immediately though and dives into Davidson's guard.


The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Jim drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Davidson dives on top into guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Davidson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Davidson drops back, looking for a kneebar! Jim looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Jim looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Jim!


Jim goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Davidson has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Jim but great work by Davidson.

Davidson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Davidson wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Jim, who protects the arm well.

Davidson swings around for an armbar but Jim sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Davidson's guard.

Davidson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Jim postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Davidson is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Jim, into his guard.

Jim has his hands on Davidson's head, controlling the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Davidson wants to control from the top but Jim keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Damron Davidson will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

The fighters are working up against the cage. Davidson manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Jim has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Davidson avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Jim wants the takedown. Davidson is fighting it off but Jim persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Davidson's guard against the cage.

Davidson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Jim is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Davidson is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Davidson has escaped and now he's on top!

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Davidson wants to control from the top but Jim keeps moving.
Davidson with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Davidson loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Davidson looking to sit in guard and control but Jim gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.


Davidson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Jim defends it easily.

Davidson has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Jim doesn't defend quickly enough and Davidson has managed to lock this one up! Can Jim escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Davidson on a fantastic submission victory.
