The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Perez lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Perez swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Scott.
Scott tries to score a power double leg takedown but Perez sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Scott somewhat.
Scott tries to clinch up but Perez circles away and keeps his distance.
Scott shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Perez as he avoids it easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Perez lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

It looks like Samuel Scott has been cut.
Scott with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Perez to score with a decent uppercut.
Scott really is a fat lump.
Perez lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Perez is really turning it up, unleashing another crisp combination which drops Scott like a ton of bricks! The referee dives in to stop the fight, saving Scott from another fist facial!
