Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Francis Solis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anto Kapunen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Anto Kapunen has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Francis Solis's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Francis Solis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Anto Kapunen!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Fedor Mirinova and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Solis fails with a takedown attempt.

Kapunen scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Solis is pushing Kapunen's head away, looking to escape. Kapunen manages to hold on to the position though.
Solis is trying to control Kapunen's posture but Kapunen avoids it.
Solis seems a little lost for a moment, as Kapunen dominates the positioning.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kapunen tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Solis is looking to regain half guard here but Kapunen keeps moving and retains side control.
Solis seems a little lost for a moment, as Kapunen dominates the positioning.
It looks like Kapunen might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Solis tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kapunen paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Kapunen tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

and Kapunen counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Francis Solis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Solis wants to clinch up but Kapunen keeps it at a distance.
Kapunen wants to counter the offense by Solis and move into the clinch position.

Kapunen shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Kapunen was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

You can see the frustration on Solis's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Solis looking for a sweep but Kapunen has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Kapunen content just to control the position here.
Kapunen avoids the attempt from Solis to control.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Kapunen is continuing to stall.
Let's hope that Kapunen has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Solis is wriggling around trying to escape.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Kapunen sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
The adventures of Kapunen the control monster continue. Boring.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Anto Kapunen dominated that round.
That's time! Solis's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Solis fails with an attempt to clinch.

Kapunen bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Solis is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kapunen uses his free foot to push down on Solis's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Solis.
Kapunen takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Anto Kapunen has got the better of the ground game so far.
Solis really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Solis is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Kapunen controlling from the full mount.
Kapunen is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Solis is in real trouble.
Kapunen is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.

Kapunen is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Solis has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Kapunen has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Solis taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Kapunen doesn't care though - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Anto Kapunen!
