The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mitchell tests Gardiner's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Mitchell slips a jab from Gardiner.
Mitchell fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Gardiner looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Mitchell is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Mitchell lands a right hook to the body.
Mitchell feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Gardiners jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Gardiner blocks a jab.

Mitchell gets a clinch.
A nice left hand lands by Gardiner.
Gardiner throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Gardiner lands a shoulder strike.
A short right from Gardiner.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gardiner lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Mitchell backwards.
Mitchell takes a shot to the head.
Gardiner scores with a shot to the side of Mitchell's head.
Gardiner lands a right hand.

Mitchell is rocked!
Gardiner throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Mitchell is still on wobbly legs! Can Gardiner finish him?
Gardiner lands a nice shot to the body.
A frustrated look appears on Mitchell's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Mitchell can't break the clinch.
Mitchell goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Gardiner lands with a left to the head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gardiner lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Mitchell wants to break free but Gardiner has control.
Gardiner lands an uppercut.
Gardiner breaks the clinch momentarily and cracks Mitchell with a big right hook that drops him to the canvas! Mitchell looks like he might be in big trouble here! The referee has started the count straight away and we're up to 5 already. Mitchell get to one knee - can he make it back to his feet? No, he's flopped back to the mat - he's out - this one is all over!
