The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cortez lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

It looks like Vick Vhude has been cut.
Cortez throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Vhude stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Cortez throws a shot to the body.
Cortez throws a right hand that Vhude ducks under and follows up with a left that Vhude also avoids with ease.
Vhude ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Alejo Cortez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cortez misses the shot to the body.

and Vhude counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Cortez ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Vhude moves away.

Vhude is trying to push Cortez away but Cortez has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Vhude tries to break the clinch but Cortez is controlling the position.
Cortez lands with a short punch from the clinch.

Vhude looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Vhude wants to get back to striking at distance but Cortez won't allow it.
Cortez scores with a nice hook to the head.

Cortez drops Vhude onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Vhude is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!
