The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davies looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Blanchard!
Blanchard sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Blanchard is trying to stand.

Davies looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Davies's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Davies lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Blanchard moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Davies really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Blanchard. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
