Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Michale Waters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Con Ziad (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Michale Waters!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Con Ziad!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Nard Betker and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ziad rushes Waters and presses him up against the cage.
Waters wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Waters wants to get back to striking at distance but Ziad won't allow it.
Ziad is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Waters jumps guard but Ziad stands there with Waters around his waist. Waters gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Waters gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Ziad.

Ziad drops down looking for an ankle pick but Waters pulls his leg out and moves away.

Waters moves into range and clinches up with Ziad.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Waters pulls guard effortlessly.
Ziad stays in close to Waters's body and controls the position.
Waters looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ziad is one step ahead there.

Waters throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
A jab lands there for Ziad.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Waters gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Ziad unloads a knee to the mid-section. Waters lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ziad is on top in guard.

Ziad shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Waters but Waters pushes him off and we're back to square one.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Ziad is trying to drag Waters to the mat but Waters just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Waters manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ziad manages to get himself to full guard.

Waters stuffs the takedown attempt from Ziad. Ziad gets slowly back to his feet.
Waters seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Michale Waters has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Con Ziad.

Ziad controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Ziad drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Ziad jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Waters utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Waters is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Ziad is stalling in the full guard.
Ziad wants to control from the top but Waters keeps moving.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Ziad tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Waters paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Waters is looking to counter the offense by Ziad and move into the clinch.
Ziad throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Waters's waist but Waters gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ziad off to one side.

Waters takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.

Ziad fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Waters, pushing him back against the cage.

Ziad has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Waters is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Waters jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Ziad walks away with a smile on his face. Waters gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Waters tries to pull guard but Ziad holds him up against the cage and eventually Waters drops back down to his feet.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Waters wants to break free but Ziad has control.
Ziad has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Ziad jumps guard and drags Waters to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Waters has gone for a leg lock! Ziad slips out almost immediately though and dives into Waters's guard.

Ziad seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Waters is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Waters wants to get back to his feet.

Waters manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Ziad keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Waters is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Ziad is keeping busy.
Ziad is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Waters is defending well.
Ziad lands a body punch.

Ziad breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Waters ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Waters no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Ziad drops back looking for a leg! Waters is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Waters manages to kick Ziad off! Ziad jumps back into Waters's guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Waters wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Ziad is now in half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Con Ziad comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Ziad has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
