The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Heimer has hold of Powell's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Powell manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Heimer had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Powell is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Heimer Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Powell's back instead.

Powell is sitting in close to Heimer's body. Heimer has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Powell is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Powell is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Heimer.
