Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kory Hyde (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tank Cruiser (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cruiser ducks under a wild hook from Hyde.
Tank Cruiser seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hyde gets caught napping as Cruiser dives in and scores a takedown. Hyde manages to retain guard.
Cruiser stays in close to Hyde's body and controls the position.
Hyde has a closed guard, preventing Cruiser from standing up.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Hyde holds on and takes a little breather.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Cruiser accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Cruiser is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Hyde gets caught flat footed, as Cruiser shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Hyde controls Cruiser momentarily but Cruiser frees himself.

Cruiser's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cruiser trying to control but Hyde is working from the bottom.
Hyde keeping full guard, as Cruiser tries to pass.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Cruiser is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Cruiser rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hyde moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Cruiser rushes Hyde and presses him up against the cage.
Cruiser has Hyde pressed against the cage, preventing Hyde from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Cruiser decides to pull guard.
Hyde throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Cruiser is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Hyde postures up in Cruiser's guard and throws a big left but Cruiser blocks it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Cruiser shoots in and bounces Hyde off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Cruiser looking to sit in guard and control but Hyde gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Cruiser manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Hyde on his heels. He'll look to pass Hyde's guard now, I'm sure.

Hyde is trying to control but Cruiser passes into side control!

Cruiser is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Hyde has escaped the position, nice work there.
An elbow from Cruiser crashes against the mat.
Cruiser has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Cruiser creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Hyde sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Cruiser is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hyde is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Cruiser darts in and clinches Hyde up against the cage.
Hyde tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Cruiser just stands there and leans against the cage.

Hyde drops back, looking for a kneebar! Cruiser looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Cruiser looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Cruiser!

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Cruiser goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Hyde rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Cruiser's guard! Nice work there by Hyde!
Cruiser is adopting a defensive guard.
Cruiser lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Cruiser stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hyde swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Tank Cruiser showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Despite the aggression on Cruiser's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Cruiser throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Hyde is looking to reverse the position.

Hyde manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Cruiser kicks Hyde off and gets to his feet.

Cruiser throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hyde was covering up waiting for the punch and Cruiser finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Cruiser darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Cruiser takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Hyde is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Well Cruiser has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
