PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Brad Maddox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonathan Pridham (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pridham has chosen tamale-tyler, the creator as his entrance music. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Elvis Blanc and Trevor Gratis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pridham throws a combination that misses

and Maddox counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Pridham really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Maddox. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Pridham pushes Maddox off and gets back to his feet.
Pridham pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

and Maddox counters with a takedown into side control.

Pridham pushes Maddox off but Maddox dives into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pridham manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Maddox has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Pridham can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Maddox looking to hit a scissor sweep but Pridham is one step ahead there.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Pridham accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pridham stands and steps away. Maddox gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Pridham decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Maddox went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Pridham clinches up against the cage.
Maddox tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Pridham smiles and moves away.
Pridham connects with a combination that backs up Maddox into the cage. Pridham lands a flurry of punches that gets past Maddox's guard. Maddox is down and the referee has seen enough. It is all over! Pridham bursts into tears - this win obviously means a huge amount to him.
