The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Efendi shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Blanchard is trying to defend but Efendi finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Blanchard kicks Efendi off and gets back to his feet.
Efendi dives in and scores a takedown into Blanchard's guard.
Efendi working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Efendi has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Blanchard takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Efendi's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
