The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ramos feints a jab promting Maddox to slip. Ramos then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Maddox slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Ramos shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Ramos showed some decent athleticism there.
Maddox is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Maddox is refusing to be controlled, as Ramos sits in half guard.

Ramos is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Maddox doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Ramos.
Maddox might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ramos prevents Maddox from improving his position.

Ramos trying to control the position from guard on top but Maddox is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Ramos is sitting in close to Maddox's body. Maddox has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Ramos is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Ramos is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Maddox.
