Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between KJ Dempsey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lance Boyle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, KJ Dempsey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lance Boyle!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Jonathan Paton and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dempsey throws a right hand that Boyle ducks under and follows up with a left that Boyle also avoids with ease.
Boyle avoids a punch combination nicely.
Boyle throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Dempsey's waist but Dempsey gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Boyle off to one side.
Boyle tries a head kick but it misses.
Dempsey misses with a series of wild punches.
Boyle throws a head kick but Dempsey moves out of range.
A slow jab from Dempsey misses its intended target.
Dempsey throws a nice looking combination but Boyle bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Boyle tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Dempsey stuffs the takedown attempt from Boyle. Boyle gets slowly back to his feet.

Boyle rushes Dempsey and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Boyle unloads a knee to the mid-section. Dempsey lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Dempsey has clasped his hands together around Boyle's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Dempsey wants to lay and pray for a moment but Boyle keeps working.
Boyle is looking for a sweep.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Dempsey trying to control the position but Boyle is working away.
Boyle is trying to improve his position.
Boyle takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Boyle is not content to let Dempsey control the position.
Boyle is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dempsey is looking to take a break and control but Boyle is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Dempsey has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Boyle takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Boyle is not content to let Dempsey control the position.
Dempsey throwing strikes but Boyle manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dempsey tries to improve position but can't.
Boyle tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Dempsey sneaks back into half guard.
Dempsey tries to get to full guard but Boyle has control of the leg.
Dempsey is working hard here to advance position.

Dempsey wants to improve his position but Boyle is controlling well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Dempsey regains full guard. Nicely done.
Boyle is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Boyle stopping the sweep attempt from Dempsey.
Dempsey controls Boyle momentarily but Boyle frees himself.
Dempsey looking for a sweep. Not yet Dempsey, not yet.
Boyle has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Dempsey is proving hard to escape from.
Dempsey looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

KJ Dempsey dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Boyle closes the distance and clinches up with Dempsey, looking for a takedown. Boyle pushes Dempsey against the cage but Dempsey circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Boyle falls off balance throwing a combination
and Dempsey counters with a stiff right hand.
Dempsey drops Boyle with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Boyle looks back up at him and smiles so Dempsey waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.


Boyle is rocked!
Dempsey throws a hook but Boyle blocks it.
Dempsey misses with a wild combination.
Dempsey dances in with a quick combination. Boyle is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from Dempsey snaps Boyle's head back. Boyle stumbles backwards against the cage. Dempsey steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with Boyle's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. Boyle just didn't come prepared.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). KJ Dempsey!
