Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Stuart Ball!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Shawn Byrce!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Byrce gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Nice body punch from Byrce - that landed with a thud.
Ball tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Byrce avoids it.
Byrce tries for a takedown but Ball manages to get underhooks.

Ball breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Byrce misses with a takedown attempt - Ball sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Byrce shoots in but Ball avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Byrce has taken the fight to the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Byrce shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ball but Ball pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Ball shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Byrce defends it nicely.
Ball tries to close the distance and clinch up but Byrce swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Byrce doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Ball moves into the clinch.
Byrce wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Byrce changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Ball fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Byrce tries to close the distance and clinch but Ball swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Ball tries to score a power double leg takedown but Byrce sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ball somewhat.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Byrce shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ball as he jumps to the side.
Ball avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Ball throws a big counter combination but Byrce scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Byrce shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ball but Ball pushes him off and we're back to square one.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Byrce dives in for a single leg takedown but Ball sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Byrce tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Stuart Ball is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Byrce throws a body punch but Ball moves out of range.
Byrce looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ball is fending him off so far but Byrce persists. Nope, Ball circles away and we're back to standing.

Ball misses with a straight right.

Byrce gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Byrce prevents a body shot from Ball.

Ball decides to pull guard.
Ball looking to control.
Ball bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Byrce's guard.

Stuart Ball overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Byrce is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Byrce working a defensive guard but Ball passes into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ball is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Byrce sees it coming and defends easily.

Ball seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Byrce does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Ball is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Byrce holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Ball is thwarting Byrce's attempts to control the position.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Ball, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
