Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Justin Hunter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Darren Myles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hunter comes to the cage accompanied by Cradle to the Grave- Five Finger Death Punch. Myles has chosen Red Hot Chili Peppers - Can't Stop as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Justin Hunter!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Darren Myles!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Anthony Taglia and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hunter takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Hunter shoots in but no luck this time.
Hunter misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Myles throws a counter combo.

Myles shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Hunter works his way to full guard. Good work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Myles working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Hunter is trying to control the position but Myles postures up.
Hunter working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Myles.
Hunter tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Myles wants to control from the top but Hunter keeps moving.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hunter looking for a sweep. Not yet Hunter, not yet.
Hunter is working hard here to advance position.
Hunter is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Hunter manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Myles manages to get himself to full guard.

Hunter stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Myles swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Hunter trying to control the position from guard on top but Myles is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Hunter throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hunter tries to free his leg and advance position but Myles is retaining full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Myles preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Hunter trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Hunter looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Hunter won't allow Myles to get back to his feet.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Myles keeping full guard, as Hunter tries to pass.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Myles ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Myles fails with the takedown.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Myles stalks Hunter and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Hunter's face. Hunter staggers backwards, shaken.
Hunter lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Myles backs up against the cage.
Myles takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Hunter tries to clinch but Myles is having none of it.
Myles changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Hunter is looking to take this one to the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Justin Hunter. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Hunter gets control of Myles's arms and successfully pulls guard. Hunter will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Myles is in close to Hunter's body, working some short punches and elbows.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Myles lands a couple of elbows.
Myles wants to pass the guard but Hunter is keeping the position.
Hunter wants to sweep here but Myles controlling him for the moment.
Hunter not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Myles is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Hunter is trying to control the position but Myles postures up.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Myles stopping the sweep attempt from Hunter.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Hunter working a defensive guard here.
Myles throwing strikes from guard but Hunter blocks nicely.
Myles distracts Hunter with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Darren Myles will probably get the nod.
That's time! Hunter's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Hunter dodges the punch combination from Myles.
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Myles has cracked Hunter with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Myles lands another huge swinging hook and Hunter tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Hunter, before Myles can land any more shots!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:19 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Darren Myles!
Darren Myles is the new lightweight champion!
Darren Myles really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Sin City Allstars logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
Justin Hunter was interviewed post fight and said 'Bottom line it, my fighting is lightyears ahead of this man and I plan on demonstrating it in the near future. I'm nowhere near defeated, I am the lightweight Champion of The Duels.'.
