Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, John Doe!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Marco Blurström and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rogers misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Rogers really is a fat lump.
Doe throws a nice looking combination but Rogers bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Rogers shoots in and gets a takedown into Doe's guard.

Doe scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Rogers throws an off balance right hand
and Doe counters with a three punch combo that has Rogers backing up. Rogers nods at Doe to acknowledge the strikes.
Rogers scores with a jab to the jaw.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Doe scores with a shot to the body.
Doe steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Rogers.
Doe lands with a right hand.
No joy there for Doe, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Rogers throws a combination that misses
and Doe counters with a left and a right that stings Rogers.
Glenn Rogers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Doe lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Rogers throws a push kick but Doe slaps the foot to one side.
Rogers jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Rogers drives through with a takedown into Doe's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Rogers is standing up over Doe. Doe looks to escape but Rogers dives into side control.

The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Doe looks winded!

Rogers stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Rogers closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Doe's guard.
Rogers slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Rogers gets to his feet. Doe looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
We've been informed that Doe has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Rogers fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Doe to the ground. Rogers is now in Doe's guard.
Rogers's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Rogers is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Doe is working an open guard so Rogers takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Doe takes a kick to the side of the head.

Rogers has closed the distance and engaged Doe in a clinch.

Rogers is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Rogers creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.

That was a close round but I would say that Glenn Rogers will probably get the nod.

Rogers rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Doe moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rogers is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Doe.

Doe is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Rogers dives in for a single leg takedown but Doe sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Rogers shoots in looking for a takedown. Doe tries to sprawl out of it but Rogers keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Doe manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Doe gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Rogers to score an easy takedown into full guard.

John Doe seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Rogers shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Doe defends it nicely.

Rogers shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Rogers was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Rogers happy to just control the position for now.

Rogers is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Doe knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Doe seems a little lost for a moment, as Rogers dominates the positioning.

A close second round but John Doe will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!



Rogers feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Rogers seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Doe for as long as he can get away with.

Doe throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Rogers.
Doe throws a right hand that Rogers ducks under and follows up with a left that Rogers also avoids with ease.

Rogers closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Rogers is staying tight to Doe's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Rogers has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Rogers shoots for a takedown but Doe saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Glenn Rogers is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Rogers throws a sloppy head kick and Doe moves out of range easily.

Doe is wriggling around but Rogers manages to pass to half guard.

Rogers perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Glenn Rogers overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Glenn Rogers.
I think Rogers has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
