Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Cristoff Melkovick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kieran Mistry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from Mistry misses.
A left lands for Mistry.
Mistry takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
No joy there for Mistry, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Melkovick throwing a counter right hand but Mistry manages to avoid it.
Melkovick shoots in for a takedown but Mistry shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Mistry throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Mistry ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Melkovick moves away.
Melkovick throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Mistry on the side of the head.
Mistry has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Melkovick closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Melkovick lands in his opponent's guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mistry can do anything to dispel that myth.

Melkovick has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Melkovick cracks Mistry with a big right hand but Mistry just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Mistry really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Melkovick. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Mistry tries to hold on but Melkovick pushes him away.
