Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gary Mullins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobby Tilson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bobby Tilson will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bobby Tilson!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Jorge Garcia and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mullins gets caught flat footed, as Tilson shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Tilson is looking to stand up but Mullins won't let him.
Mullins wants to hit a switch here but Tilson passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Mullins there!
Mullins tries to hold on but Tilson postures up.
Tilson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Mullins is looking to escape.
Mullins is working to get back to half guard.
Tilson landing shots from mount.
Tilson lands a couple of good shots and Mullins has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
Mullins is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

Tilson is persistently looking for the submission but Mullins is defending it well.

Mullins is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Tilson gets his way!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tilson wants to get back to his feet but Mullins is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Tilson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tilson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Mullins controls the pace.
Mullins would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Mullins stands and steps away. Tilson gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Tilson throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.

Tilson shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Mullins is looking to improve his position.
Tilson thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Tilson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mullins does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Mullins might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Mullins moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Mullins is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Tilson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Mullins's guard.
Mullins wants to sweep here but Tilson controlling him for the moment.

Tilson pushes Mullins off looking to stand but Mullins dives back in and keeps control.

Mullins has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Mullins looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Mullins postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Tilson to stand up.
Bobby Tilson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Mullins tries to land knees in the clinch but Tilson avoids the damage to the body.

Tilson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Tilson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Mullins tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Mullins wants to control but Tilson is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Mullins works his way to full guard. Good work.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mullins is on top in guard.

Tilson is breathing heavily.
Mullins is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Tilson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Mullins is controlling him.
Tilson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Mullins is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
This is a sustained period of stalling by Mullins.

Mullins has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Tilson is proving hard to escape from.
Tilson doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Tilson has his foot on Mullins's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mullins works his way back into a safe position though.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Tilson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Mullins controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Mullins manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Tilson manages to get himself to full guard.

Mullins seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Tilson for as long as he can get away with.
