The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Takiama fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Larratt changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Takiama.
Takiama has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Larratt really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Takiama. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Takiama is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Larratt still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Larratt has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Larratt content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Takiama has locked up a guillotine! Takiama's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Larratt is holding on here and Takiama must be using up a lot of energy. Larratt has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Takiama gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
