Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Forrest Jarvis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zach Byrne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zach Byrne acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Forrest Jarvis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Zach Byrne!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Alec Ball and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Byrne drives through with a takedown into guard.
Jarvis pulls Byrne in close to prevent any damage.
Byrne wants to control from the top but Jarvis keeps moving.
Byrne is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Jarvis has Byrne pulled in close to control his posture.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Byrne trying to control the position from guard on top but Jarvis is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Byrne is looking to stand up but Jarvis won't let him.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Byrne enables Jarvis to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Byrne manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Jarvis misses with a head shot. Byrne uses the momentum to regain guard.

Byrne working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jarvis doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jarvis manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Jarvis looking for a guillotine here but Byrne defends easily.

Byrne gets to his feet - Jarvis follows without any prompting.

Byrne looking to score a takedown here. Jarvis is defending well but Byrne drives through and ends up in Jarvis's guard.
Byrne is stalling in the full guard.

Byrne engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Byrne pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Jarvis is keeping the position for now.

Jarvis is looking to stand up but Byrne isn't so interested in that idea.
Jarvis wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

A head kick misses from Byrne.

Byrne fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Jarvis to the ground. Byrne is now in Jarvis's guard.
Jarvis wants to get back to his feet but Byrne passes into half guard.

Jarvis is not content to let Byrne control the position.
Jarvis gets back to full guard.
Jarvis is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Byrne slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Jarvis can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Byrne controls the pace.
Byrne tries to free his leg and advance position but Jarvis is retaining full guard.
Byrne is pushing down on Jarvis's leg trying to pass to half guard. Jarvis is fighting to maintain full guard but Byrne has managed to sneak the leg through.
Jarvis holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Jarvis is refusing to be controlled, as Byrne sits in half guard.

Byrne wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jarvis keeps working.

Jarvis wants to get back to full guard.
Byrne is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Jarvis is looking to control Byrne's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Jarvis avoid being mounted?

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Jarvis closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Jarvis lands in his opponent's guard.

Byrne is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Jarvis presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Byrne gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Jarvis is positioning himself well to prevent Byrne advancing to mount.
Byrne looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Byrne is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Byrne is trying to control. Jarvis wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Byrne is thwarting Jarvis's attempts to control the position.
Byrne seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Byrne is continuing to stall.

Jarvis is defending against the submission attempts here by Byrne.

Zach Byrne showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Jarvis is staying active underneath Byrne, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Byrne is looking for a kimura but Jarvis is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Byrne to get the leverage.

Byrne thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Jarvis's head.
Byrne is trying to control the action in half guard but Jarvis is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Jarvis gets caught napping as Byrne dives in and scores a takedown. Jarvis manages to retain guard.

Jarvis is trying to hold Byrne in close to prevent damage but Byrne has managed to pass into half guard.

Jarvis fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Byrne, pushing him back against the cage.

Jarvis breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Byrne throws a sloppy head kick and Jarvis moves out of range easily.
It appears Jarvis was looking to counter with a kick there.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Byrne drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Byrne decides to stand back up.

Byrne shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Byrne showed some decent athleticism there.
Jarvis is refusing to be controlled, as Byrne sits in half guard.
Byrne takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Jarvis wants to improve his position but Byrne is controlling well.
Forrest Jarvis has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Zach Byrne is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Byrne is keen to just control but Jarvis is a slippery customer.

I've got Byrne winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
