Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alvaro Casey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eddie Parker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Eddie Parker will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alvaro Casey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Eddie Parker!
The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Ben Watson and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Casey gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Parker to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Casey had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Parker defends it easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Parker stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Casey swivels though and keeps the full guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Casey is on top in guard.

Parker is trying to keep Casey in close.
Casey might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Casey stands up and waves to Parker to follow him.

Casey is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Parker presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Parker has hold of one of Casey's legs. Casey is fighting the takedown attempt but Parker gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Casey is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Parker is aware though and is defending well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Casey pulls Parker in close to prevent any damage.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Parker wants to stand but Casey is controlling his posture from full guard.

Casey is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Casey lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Alvaro Casey will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Parker throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Parker fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Casey to the ground. Parker is now in Casey's guard.

Casey has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Parker is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
Casey throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Casey escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Parker tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Parker changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Casey looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Casey sneaks out the side door and pushes Parker away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Parker closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Casey did well to prevent Parker getting side control.
Parker is looking to stall here but Casey recovers full guard.
Casey wants to sweep here but Parker controlling him for the moment.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Casey holds on and takes a little breather.
Casey has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Parker is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Casey's half guard.

Casey manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Parker keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Casey has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Parker is trying to keep an underhook but Casey manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Casey is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Parker defends it well.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Casey in particular looking to stall.
Casey tries to pass to full mount but Parker defends it.
Casey perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
This is a sustained period of stalling by Casey.

Casey is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Parker sees it coming and defends easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Casey really is a fat lump.
Parker tries to roll over but Casey keeps him under control.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Casey wants to work for an arm triangle but Parker is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Casey seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Parker does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Parker fails in his attempt to clinch.

Casey tries to sprawl but Parker drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Casey kicks Parker off and gets back to his feet.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Parker shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Parker was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Casey bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

Parker shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Casey's guard.

Parker wants to control from the top but Casey keeps moving.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Casey, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
