Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Trey Sumpter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Deair Shaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Chris Saunders and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shaw is looking to clinch but Sumpter is avoiding it.
Sumpter pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Sumpter misses with a few strikes there.
Shaw shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sumpter as he jumps to the side.
Shaw throws a half hearted mid kick.
Sumpter moves into the clinch.
Sumpter manages to pull guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sumpter looking to hit a scissor sweep but Shaw is one step ahead there.
Sumpter is controlling Shaw's posture.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sumpter is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Shaw presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Sumpter's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
