Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jewell Carrillo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richard Kenvinchen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jewell Carrillo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Richard Kenvinchen!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, David Schapiro and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carrillo shoots in but Kenvinchen avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Kenvinchen scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Carrillo doesn't seem bothered though.
The crowd cheers as Kenvinchen lands an impressive looking overhand right. Carrillo doesn't seem phased though.


It looks like Jewell Carrillo has been cut.

Carrillo tries to keep at a distance but Kenvinchen has taken the fight into the clinch.

Kenvinchen has clasped his hands together around Carrillo's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Carrillo looks frustrated here - throwing a couple of shots from the bottom though.
The strikes coming from Kenvinchen are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Carrillo gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Kenvinchen has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Kenvinchen is working for a guillotine from mount but Carrillo frees his head quite easily.
Carrillo could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Carrillo wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Kenvinchen.
Kenvinchen throws a sloppy strike and Carrillo uses the opportunity to reverse the position! A bit of a scramble here and Carrillo has ended up in Kenvinchen's guard.

Kenvinchen working for a triangle but Carrillo defends it easily.
Kenvinchen wants to hit a switch here but Carrillo passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Kenvinchen there!

Kenvinchen can't escape the position.
Kenvinchen is still trying to improve position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kenvinchen wants to hold on but Carrillo pushes him away.
Carrillo prevents Kenvinchen from getting the reversal.
Kenvinchen is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Kenvinchen regains half guard.

Kenvinchen preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Kenvinchen pulls Carrillo in to control the position.
Kenvinchen is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Kenvinchen looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Carrillo gets caught flat footed, as Kenvinchen shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Carrillo might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Kenvinchen trying to control the position from guard on top but Carrillo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kenvinchen pushes down on Carrillo's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Kenvinchen is stalling here. Carrillo is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Kenvinchen seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Carrillo has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kenvinchen is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Carrillo has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Carrillo decides to stand back up.
Jewell Carrillo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Kenvinchen closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Carrillo to the mat! Carrillo manages to get full guard.
Kenvinchen missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Kenvinchen trying to control the position from guard on top but Carrillo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Kenvinchen seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Carrillo avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Carrillo throws his legs up looking for a submission but Kenvinchen uses it to pass to side control.
Kenvinchen postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Kenvinchen content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Kenvinchen is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Carrillo knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Kenvinchen decides to stand back up. Kenvinchen steps back and let's Carrillo get back to his feet.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Carrillo avoids the head kick by Kenvinchen.

Kenvinchen moves into the clinch.
Carrillo blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Kenvinchen gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Kenvinchen stalling.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Richard Kenvinchen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Carrillo keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Still in half guard, Kenvinchen seems content to control.
Carrillo throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

Kenvinchen moves into the clinch.
Carrillo is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Kenvinchen is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Carrillo can't fight it off and eventually Kenvinchen manages to take the fight to the floor. Carrillo looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Kenvinchen is stalling in the full guard.

Kenvinchen stands up and waves to Carrillo to follow him.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Kenvinchen shoots in and bounces Carrillo off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Kenvinchen avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Jewell Carrillo has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Richard Kenvinchen is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Richard Kenvinchen comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Kenvinchen has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
