Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Barry Lawrence (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andre Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smith closes the distance and clinches.
Lawrence takes a knee right on the jaw!

Lawrence on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

Lawrence shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Smith is trying to escape back to his feet but Lawrence uses the scramble to pass into side control.

Smith is looking for a sweep. Lawrence is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Smith makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Smith.
Smith pulls Lawrence in to control the position.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Smith is on top in guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Smith stands and steps away. Lawrence gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Andre Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Lawrence forces Smith back against the cage and clinches.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Lawrence tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Smith just stands there and leans against the cage.

Lawrence is looking to control Smith's arms but Smith gets an underhook and turns him. Now Lawrence has his back to the cage.
Lawrence tries to score a body lock takedown but Smith shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Smith is taking a breather. Lawrence says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Lawrence tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Smith wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
