Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Illumi De Medici (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Taneli Hauki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
18 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Illumi De Medici!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
28 - 17 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Taneli Hauki!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Sam Margolis and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hauki with a lazy takedown attempt
and De Medici connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Hauki tries to clinch but De Medici moves out of range.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hauki.
De Medici was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Hauki dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Hauki has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Hauki tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but De Medici was well out of range. Poor timing from Hauki.
De Medici takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Hauki ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
De Medici connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hauki digs a good hook to De Medici's body.
Hauki throws a combination but it was largely blocked by De Medici.
Hauki moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Hauki throws a low kick, looking for De Medici's leg but De Medici calmly moves out of range.
De Medici was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
De Medici throws a looping overhand right but Hauki ducks down to avoid it.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Hauki dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on De Medici. That did some damage!
Hauki tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. De Medici manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
De Medici is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
A low kick from Hauki misses
and De Medici counters with a slapping leg kick.
Hauki throws a combination. De Medici tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Hauki slips under a jab from De Medici.
De Medici takes a shot to the body in his stride.
De Medici slips a straight right by Hauki.
Hauki closes the distance but De Medici moves to the side
and De Medici counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

De Medici fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Hauki checks it well.
De Medici motions for Hauki to come forward. De Medici throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Hauki misses with a left hand
and De Medici counters with a stiff right hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
De Medici uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Taneli Hauki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
De Medici circles away from the clinch attempt
and De Medici cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Look low, kick high! De Medici uses the oldest trick in the book to send Hauki tumbling to the canvas, in a truly brutal knockout! De Medici is absolutely delighted - when Hauki wakes up, I doubt he'll be quite so happy!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Illumi De Medici!
