PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bradley Terrell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Cracker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bradley Terrell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Cracker!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Joseph Jones and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Terrell looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Cracker with a poor takedown
and Terrell counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Cracker pushes Terrell up against the cage in a clinch.
Terrell is trying to break the clinch but Cracker is controlling him.

Terrell breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Cracker gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Cracker tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Terrell smiles and moves away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Terrell lands a nice shot that snaps Cracker's head back.
Cracker tries for a takedown but Terrell sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Bradley Terrell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Cracker.

Cracker keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Cracker tries to score a body lock takedown but Terrell shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Cracker managing to block the knees to the body from Terrell.
Terrell has Cracker pushed against the cage.
Terrell manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Terrell gets a warning from the ref for wasting time.
Cracker jumps guard but Terrell stands there with Cracker around his waist. Cracker gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Cracker is trying to force a seperation but Terrell has the dominant position.

Terrell breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Terrell connects with a body shot.
Terrell takes a swing at Cracker's ribcage but misses.

Terrell clinches with his opponent.

Terrell's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Terrell throws out a powerful jab.

No luck for Cracker with that takedown attempt.
Terrell attempts a counter takedown but Cracker avoids it well and moves away.

Terrell moves into the clinch.
Cracker is trying to drag Terrell to the mat but Terrell just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Terrell is trying to break free.
Terrell is trying to break the clinch but Cracker has him pressed against the cage.
Cracker tries for a takedown but Terrell manages to get underhooks.
Terrell prevents a takedown attempt there.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Cracker is looking to take this one to the mat.
Cracker looks winded!
Cracker managing to block the knees to the body from Terrell.
Terrell lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Cracker is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Terrell pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Cracker pulls Terrell into guard.
Terrell is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Cracker preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Terrell with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Terrell works over Cracker with some ground and pound from guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Terrell had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Cracker defends it easily.
Cracker is breathing heavily.

Terrell throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

Terrell could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Cracker drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Cracker jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Terrell tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Cracker controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Cracker trying to control but Terrell is working from the bottom.

Terrell is looking for a triangle but Cracker pushes his legs off easily.

Cracker decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Terrell, up you get!

Cracker scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Terrell works his way to full guard. Good work.

Cracker stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Terrell fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Cracker looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Cracker shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
John Cracker has got the better of the ground game so far.
Cracker trying to control but Terrell is working from the bottom.

Terrell working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Cracker doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Cracker manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Cracker gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Cracker shoots in for a double leg but Terrell sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Terrell dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Cracker gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Terrell to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Terrell missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Cracker is looking for a triangle but Terrell pushes his legs off easily.
Terrell is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Cracker can do to turn this around?
Terrell won't allow Cracker to sweep him here.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Cracker escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Terrell gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

A close second round but John Cracker will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Terrell connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Terrell connects with a nice looking jab.
Terrell dives in and grabs Cracker's left leg, looking for a takedown. Cracker pushes down on Terrell's head and hops out.
Cracker is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cracker clinches up with Terrell and pushes him back against the cage.

Terrell breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Cracker.
Terrell swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

A left lands for Terrell.
Cracker dives in for a single leg takedown but Terrell sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Bradley Terrell is winning the standup battle so far.
Cracker takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
The crowd cheers as Terrell lands an impressive looking overhand right. Cracker doesn't seem phased though.

Cracker moves into the clinch successfully.
Terrell misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Cracker.
Come on Terrell - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

Terrell seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.

Cracker tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Terrell smiles and moves away.
Bradley Terrell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Cracker.
Terrell feints a jab promting Cracker to slip. Terrell then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Cracker slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Terrell shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Cracker controls Terrell momentarily but Terrell frees himself.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Cracker has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Terrell off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Terrell has taken the fight to the clinch.

Terrell's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Terrell shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Cracker is trying to defend but Terrell finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Cracker wants to get back to his feet.

Cracker looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Terrell landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Terrell not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Cracker trying to control from the bottom.
Cracker wants to improve his position but Terrell is controlling well.

Terrell is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Cracker is just riding it out for now. Terrell eventually gives up the hold.
