PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pedro Moses (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tim Eachus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pedro Moses!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tim Eachus!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Ian Loll and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eachus tries to clinch but Moses is having none of it.
Moses lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Eachus rushes Moses and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
With the fighters up against the cage, Eachus throws an elbow but misses.

Moses gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Eachus regains guard.
Moses missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Moses controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Eachus manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Eachus misses with a knee to the head.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Eachus scores with a knee to the head.


It looks like Pedro Moses has been cut.
Eachus looking to throw knees to the head but Moses is blocking nicely.
A shot in the inside from Eachus.
Eachus unloads a knee to the mid-section. Moses lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Moses managing to block the knees to the body from Eachus.
Moses is trying to pull guard but Eachus has him pressed against the cage.

Eachus has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Canadian Dragon MMA. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

Eachus is trying to stand.
Moses is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Eachus pushes Moses off looking to stand but Moses dives back in and keeps control.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Eachus tries to clinch but Moses moves out of range.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Nice shot lands for Moses.
Eachus fails with an attempt to clinch.
Eachus lands a nice shot to the body.
Eachus tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Moses manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Eachus tries to clinch but Moses is having none of it.
Moses seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Eachus fails in his attempt to clinch.
Moses throws a push kick but Eachus slaps the foot to one side.

Eachus clinches with his opponent.

Moses has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Eachus uses from the top position.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Moses is working an open guard so Eachus takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Eachus pushes Moses up against the cage in a clinch.
Moses has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Eachus is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pedro Moses. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Eachus putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Moses in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.

Moses tries to pull guard but Eachus forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Moses is breathing heavily.
Eachus tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Moses tries to pull guard but Eachus won't allow it.
Eachus with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Moses tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Eachus just stands there and leans against the cage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Eachus breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Eachus throws a head kick that misses.
Eachus tries to clinch up.
Eachus ducks right into an uppercut from Moses.
Tim Eachus is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Eachus fails in his attempt to clinch.
Moses tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Eachus manages to circle out of the way.
Eachus fakes the leg kick and cracks Moses in the body.

Moses is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Eachus's half guard.
Eachus scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Moses manages to mount him!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Moses shoots for a takedown but Eachus saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Eachus fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Moses appears to be looking for a big counter.

Moses has taken the fight to the clinch.

Moses tightens his grip and picks Eachus up, before dumping him to the ground. Eachus manages to land in guard.

Eachus manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Moses's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Eachus has Moses pushed against the cage.

Eachus pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Eachus tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Moses is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Eachus.
Eachus doesn't manage to clinch there - Moses circles away.

Moses misses with a double jab
and Eachus counters with a left and a right that stings Moses.
Nice shot lands for Moses.

Eachus tries to land a knee to the head but Moses blocks with his arms.
Moses really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Eachus has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Eachus has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Moses ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Moses no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Eachus tries to stand but Moses is controlling from the bottom.
Eachus wants to stand and escape but instead Moses has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Moses seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Eachus utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Moses engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Moses seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Eachus for as long as he can get away with.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Moses won't allow Eachus to get back to his feet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Moses drives through with a takedown into Eachus's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Eachus wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Moses manages to pass to side control.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tim Eachus showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Eachus pulls out of a head kick attempt.
As Eachus tries to get set, Moses tries to push him back and clinch up but Eachus manages to avoid the attempt.
Moses is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Eachus fails with an attempt to clinch.
Moses pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Eachus back to the cage. Moses follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Eachus looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Moses tries to pull guard but Eachus won't allow it.

Moses pulls guard effortlessly.
Eachus with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Eachus gets to his feet. Moses looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Moses shoots for a double leg takedown but Eachus sprawls well. He's pushed Moses's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Eachus moves in looking to clinch but Moses pushes him off.
No joy there for Moses, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Moses is looking to land body kicks.

Eachus clinches.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Eachus landing knees to the head.


Moses is rocked!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Eachus has the Thai clinch. He lands a big knee to the head that stumbles Moses - he's in trouble! Another big knee to the head from Eachus, and another! Moses is out on his feet - the ref jumps in to save him and ends the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:18 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Knees). Tim Eachus!
During a confident post fight interview, Tim Eachus thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
