The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Paul Tew and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendez connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Clones Jr momentarily.
Clones Jr staying out of range there.
Clones Jr throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Clones Jr uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Mendez.
An attempted straight right counter from Clones Jr misses the target.
Clones Jr throws the left hand but Mendez avoids the punch easily.
Clones Jr throws a nice outside leg kick.
We've been informed that Mendez has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Mendez misses with an uppercut.
Clones Jr was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Mendez ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Clones Jr bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
A slapping body kick lands there for Clones Jr.
Clones Jr does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mendez looks to land a left hand but Clones Jr moved out of range nicely.
It appears Clones Jr was looking to counter with a kick there.
Mendez throws a big shot that misses.
Clones Jr fires out a quick counter leg kick but Mendez just manages to avoid it.
Clones Jr scores with a jab to the body.
Clones Jr misses with a looping left.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Mendez misses with a lunging right hand
and Clones Jr counters with a nice body kick.
Mendez looks winded!
Mendez takes one to the side of the head.
It looks like George Mendez has been cut.
Clones Jr lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Clones Jr scores with a kick to the body.
Clones Jr lands a big right hand that sends Mendez crashing to the mat! Clones Jr stays standing though and waves Mendez back to his feet!
Mendez is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mendez swings widly with a right hand
and Clones Jr counters with a huge right that knocks Mendez out cold! Clones Jr is running around with a crazed look on his face - you can see how much that meant to him!
