The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rawlings is taking a breather. Belizar says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Belizar tries to kick Rawlings off but Rawlings keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Rawlings tries to pass to full mount but Belizar defends it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rawlings is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Belizar can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Rawlings stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Belizar tries to clinch but Rawlings is having none of it.

Rawlings shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Rawlings showed some decent athleticism there.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Rawlings shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Belizar as he avoids it easily.

Belizar is looking to stand up but Rawlings isn't so interested in that idea.

Rawlings has gone for a leg lock! Belizar slips out almost immediately though and dives into Rawlings's guard.
Belizar would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
