Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Pale Monster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kim Chow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kim Chow acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Pale Monster!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kim Chow!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, John Kavanagh and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Chow gets a clinch.
Monster creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Chow tries a body shot but Monster blocks it.
Chow can't find room to land a body shot as Monster controls the action.

Chow wants the takedown. Monster is fighting it off but Chow persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Monster's guard against the cage.
Chow's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Monster is pulling down on Chow's head. It's preventing any offense from Chow, at least for the moment.

Chow drops back looking for a leg! Monster is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Monster manages to kick Chow off! Chow jumps back into Monster's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Monster looking for a guillotine here but Chow defends easily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Monster escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Chow gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Monster is looking for a triangle but Chow pushes his legs off easily.
Chow is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Chow gets to his feet - Monster follows without any prompting.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Chow closes the distance but Monster moves to the side
and Monster counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Chow has Monster up against the cage in a clinch.
Monster tries to pull guard but Chow holds him up against the cage and eventually Monster drops back down to his feet.
Chow goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Monster tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Chow pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Chow tries to clinch up.
Chow is looking to clinch but Monster is avoiding it.

Chow has taken the fight to the clinch.

An uppercut to the body lands inside from Chow.
Monster wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Chow works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Monster escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Chow gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Monster has his foot on Chow's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Chow works his way back into a safe position though.

Chow stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Monster swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Chow slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Monster jumps guard but Chow turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Monster fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Chow scores with a nice hook to the head.
Chow throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Monster blocks it with crossed arms.
Chow tries to work over Monster's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Monster has Chow pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Chow manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Still in half guard, Chow seems content to control.

Monster is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Chow wants to pass the guard but Monster is defending well.

Monster wants to control but Chow is keeping busy.

Chow working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Chow wants to take a breather but Monster is having none of it.
Chow keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Let's hope that Chow has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Chow's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Chow moves into the clinch successfully.
Monster jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Chow walks away with a smile on his face. Monster gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Chow gets a clinch.
Chow has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Chow scores with a shoulder strike.

Monster is trying to pull guard but Chow turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kim Chow showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Monster looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Chow is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
More stalling from Chow.

Monster escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Chow gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Chow stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Monster swivels though and keeps the full guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Chow prevents Monster from improving his position.
Chow slows the pace down in half guard.
Chow trying to control from half guard but Monster is working away.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
The fight stays on the outside here - Chow looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Chow tries to clinch up.
Monster doesn't manage to clinch there - Chow circles away.

Chow has managed to clinch.
Monster tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Chow just stands there and leans against the cage.
Monster can't get the takedown.
Monster wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Chow has him pressed against the cage.
Chow lands a nice shot to the body.

Monster is fighting off a takedown attempt but Chow is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Monster to the mat. Monster regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Chow controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
