The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Arnaboldi keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Short clinches.
Short cracks Arnaboldi with a nice body shot.
Arnaboldi throws a punch but it's blocked by Short.
Short breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Arnaboldi slaps away a takedown attempt from Short, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Arnaboldi was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Arnaboldi stuffs the takedown attempt from Short. Short gets slowly back to his feet.
Short fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Arnaboldi swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Short takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Arnaboldi has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Short tries to clinch but Arnaboldi is having none of it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Arnaboldi uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Short.
Short drives through and clinches with Arnaboldi against the cage.

Arnaboldi is pressed up against the cage. Short has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Arnaboldi down to the mat. Arnaboldi avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Short stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Arnaboldi .

and Short takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Kevin Short seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Short lands a nice shot to the body.
A slow jab from Short misses its intended target.
Arnaboldi cracks Short with an open hand slap.
Short throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Arnaboldi 's waist but Arnaboldi gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Short off to one side.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Short loads up on a big right hand but Arnaboldi slips the punch.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Arnaboldi throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Short drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Arnaboldi defends it well.
Short takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Short throws a body punch but Arnaboldi moves out of range.
Huberto Arnaboldi is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Arnaboldi circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Short to the canvas! Short doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Arnaboldi keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
