Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Eka Tahuna (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roger Cantor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Eka Tahuna has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eka Tahuna!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 16 - 0, fighting out of New York, Roger Cantor!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Andrew Berry and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cantor takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Tahuna drops his hands momentarily and Cantor takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Tahuna jabs Cantor to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Tahuna throws a hook but Cantor blocks it.
Tahuna throws a big shot that misses.
Cantor fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Tahuna avoids it really well and circles away.
Tahuna throwing a counter right hand but Cantor manages to avoid it.
Tahuna tries a head kick but it misses.
Cantor drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Tahuna defends it well.
Tahuna throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Tahuna blocks a jab.
Tahuna looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tahuna tries to close the distance and clinch up but Cantor swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Tahuna getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Cantor swings widly with a right hand
and Tahuna counters with a nice low kick that buckles Cantor's knee momentarily.
Cantor scores with the left hand. Tahuna knows he should have avoided that one.
Eka Tahuna seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Cantor connects with a jab.
Tahuna misses with an uppercut. Cantor saw that one coming.
Tahuna throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
And Cantor tries to counter it with a takedown but Tahuna pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Cantor shoots in but no luck this time.

Cantor takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Tahuna moves into the clinch.
Tahuna swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Tahuna goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Cantor can't find room to land a body shot as Tahuna controls the action.
Cantor has Tahuna pressed against the cage, preventing Tahuna from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Tahuna misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Cantor blocks a body shot from Tahuna.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Cantor digs a right hand into Tahuna's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Tahuna's gas tank.
Tahuna is working Cantor over against the cage.
Tahuna makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Tahuna manages to break the clinch.
A lazy left from Tahuna finds it's target.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Tahuna cracks Cantor with a right hand to the side of the head.

and Tahuna connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Cantor feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Tahunas jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Cantor dives in for a single leg takedown but Tahuna sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Eka Tahuna has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Roger Cantor.

Tahuna misses with a wild body shot.

The fight stays on the outside here - Tahuna looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Cantor slips under a jab from Tahuna.

Tahuna rushes Cantor and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Tahuna struggles to land a body shot inside as Cantor controls his hands.
Cantor takes an elbow to the forehead.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Tahuna.
Cantor looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Cantor tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Tahuna's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Tahuna fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Cantor has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Cantor throws a one two combo.

Cantor shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Tahuna's guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Tahuna looking to hit a scissor sweep but Cantor is one step ahead there.

Cantor throwing strikes but missing.
Cantor with a flurry of punches that miss.
Cantor stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tahuna swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Tahuna has control of Cantor's left arm, preventing Cantor from doing any damage.
Cantor is stalling in the full guard.
Cantor chips away with some ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Eka Tahuna dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Cantor ducks right into an uppercut from Tahuna.
Cantor lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Tahuna circles away quickly and effectively.
A combination from Cantor does no damage.
Tahuna throws a sloppy head kick
and Cantor counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Tahuna bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Cantor closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Tahuna to the mat! Tahuna manages to get full guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Tahuna is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Cantor can do to turn this around?

Tahuna wants to pass the guard but Cantor is keeping the position.
Tahuna wanted to stand there but Cantor had control of the position.
Cantor wants to sweep but no luck.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Cantor has Tahuna pulled in close to control his posture.
Tahuna wants to control from the top but Cantor keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tahuna stands up over Cantor, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Tahuna stays in close to Cantor's body and controls the position.
Cantor pulls Tahuna in close to his closed guard and prevents Tahuna from doing any damage or advancing position.
Cantor is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

and Cantor counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Tahuna!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Tahuna gets back to half guard.
Cantor working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Cantor slips a nice elbow through Tahuna's hands, connecting with Tahuna's forehead.

Tahuna is looking to escape.

Roger Cantor showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Cantor takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Cantor might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Tahuna.

Eka Tahuna has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Roger Cantor.

and Cantor takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Cantor throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Cantor closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Cantor lands in his opponent's guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Eka Tahuna showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Tahuna has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
