Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Seth Shannon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Seth Shannon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jason Lee!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, James Glass and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lee wants to clinch.
Shannon tries to counter by clinching up but Lee breaks away and moves out of range.

Shannon darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Lee wants to improve his position but Shannon is controlling well.
Shannon controlling the pace.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lee is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Shannon scores with a couple of nice shots.
Lee flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Lee is trying to get back to full guard.
Shannon really is a fat lump.
Lee regains full guard. Nicely done.

Lee is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lee controls Shannon momentarily but Shannon frees himself.
Lee might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Shannon haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Shannon content to stall in guard here.

Shannon stands up and waves to Lee to follow him.
Lee shoots and misses
and Shannon counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Lee tries to clinch but Shannon moves away

so Shannon counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Shannon controlling from the top position.
Shannon knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lee on the ground.
Shannon lands a couple of elbows.

Shannon decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Lee, up you get!
Lee tries to clinch but Shannon moves out of range.
Shannon swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Shannon drives through with a takedown into guard.
Lee is looking to stand back up but Shannon counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Lee.


Shannon postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Lee to stand up.
Jason Lee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Shannon closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Lee looks winded!

Shannon decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Shannon fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Lee sprawls well initially but Shannon persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Shannon stands up out of the half guard.

Shannon closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Shannon decides to stand back up.

Shannon drives through with a takedown into Lee's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Shannon might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Shannon pushing down on Lee's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Shannon content to control rather than advance.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lee is looking to control Shannon's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Lee avoid being mounted?

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Seth Shannon dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Shannon throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Lee was covering up waiting for the punch and Shannon finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Shannon is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Shannon is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Lee scores to the head and body with a nice combination!

Shannon drives through with a takedown into Lee's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Lee shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Shannon as he avoids it easily.
Shannon quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.
Lee is breathing heavily.
Lee looks to clinch

and Shannon counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Lee is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Shannon presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Shannon gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Lee.
Shannon controlling the action here for a moment.

Shannon works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Shannon gets to his feet. Lee looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Shannon feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Shannon stands and steps away. Lee gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Shannon shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Lee is trying to defend but Shannon finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Shannon is taking a breather. Lee says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lee is looking to improve his position.

Shannon maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Lee could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Shannon has cracked it and Lee is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Shannon!
