Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Igor Rottwel!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Shigeki Sano and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Rottwel is defended easily by Davidson.
Davidson stuffs the takedown attempt from Rottwel. Rottwel gets slowly back to his feet.
Rottwel scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Rottwel is looking for a kimura but Davidson is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Rottwel to get the leverage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Davidson moves into full guard.
Rottwel postures up and lands a big shot to Davidson's brow.
Davidson working for a triangle but Rottwel defends it easily.
Rottwel is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Davidson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rottwel gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Rottwel is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Rottwel cracks Davidson with a solid left hand.
Rottwel advances to half guard.
Davidson looking for submissions off his back.
My spies in School of Hard Knocks (Elite Training for $225) inform me that Rottwel has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
Rottwel is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Davidson!
Davidson tries to reverse the position but Rottwel maintains control.
Davidson is in a horrible position here. Rottwel smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Rottwel has hold of Davidson's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Davidson manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Rottwel is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Davidson to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Davidson shrugs it off.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Davidson is working to get back to half guard.
Davidson is bucking up trying to escape but Rottwel cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Davidson is breathing heavily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Rottwel with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Rottwel wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it.
Rottwel wants to finish this one by submission but Davidson is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Rottwel.

Rottwel has control of Davidson's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Davidson regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Davidson is looking to improve his position but Rottwel isn't that keen on the idea.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rottwel is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Davidson is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Davidson flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Rottwel anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Davidson and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Rottwel slips an arm under Davidson chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Rottwel has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Rottwel is squeezing on Davidson like an anaconda would it's prey. Davidson fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Igor Rottwel!
