Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alazar Brook (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Deshawn Shaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alazar Brook has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alazar Brook!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Deshawn Shaw!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Cecil Peabody and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shaw is trying hard to land a takedown here. Brook sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Shaw closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Shaw lands in his opponent's guard.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Shaw working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Brook really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Shaw trying to control the position from guard on top but Brook is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Brook pulls Shaw in close to his closed guard and prevents Shaw from doing any damage or advancing position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Brook working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Shaw doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Shaw manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Brook wants to sweep but no luck.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Shaw avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Brook doesn't manage to clinch there - Shaw circles away.

Shaw shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Shaw was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Brook is letting Shaw control him for a moment.

Shaw is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Brook is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Brook sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Brook is staying active underneath Shaw, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Brook tries to get to full guard but Shaw has control of the leg.
Brook wants to get back to his feet.
Brook trying to control from the bottom.
Brook moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Brook is pulling down on Shaw's head. It's preventing any offense from Shaw, at least for the moment.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Brook throws his legs up looking for a submission but Shaw uses it to pass to side control.

Shaw tries for a kimura but Brook is defending well.
Brook is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Shaw thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

and Shaw counters with a stiff right hand.

Shaw darts in and clinches Brook up against the cage.

A combination from Brook does no damage.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Brook pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

and Shaw counters with a nice double leg into side control. Brook won't be happy with that.

Shaw tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Shaw avoids the attempt from Brook to control.
Deshawn Shaw has got the better of the ground game so far.
Brook keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Brook throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.
Brook is just holding on here. Shaw manages to take his back.

So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Shaw's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

What can Brook do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Deshawn Shaw showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Brook tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Brook avoids the head kick by Shaw.
Brook has his takedown stuffed
enabling Shaw to counter with a crisp jab.
Shaw throws a series of strikes that have Brook backpedaling.
Brook moves in looking to clinch but Shaw pushes him off.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Shaw.
Brook seems a little lost for a moment, as Shaw dominates the positioning.
Brook can't do much from the bottom here.
Brook manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Shaw is trying to get back to full guard.
Shaw is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Brook's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Brook's back!

Shaw lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
Shaw scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Brook is looking for a way out.
Brook is trying to break free.
Shaw trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
Shaw is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Brook up.

Shaw has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Brook has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Shaw controlling well, preventing Brook from escaping the position.

Shaw has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
Brook is trying to get back to his feet but Shaw has full control of the position and if anything, Brook has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Shaw trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Shaw gets his hands free as Brook looks to control.

Shaw working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.
Brook tries to escape but Shaw has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

Shaw is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Brook is defending well though. Shaw let's go of the attempt for now.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Brook trying to control the action but Shaw just sinks the hooks in.

And that's the end of the fight!
Deshawn Shaw comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Shaw has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
