Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chandinho Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
A looping hook to the body misses from Silva. Smith does a little dance to reset his feet.
Silva feints a jab promting Smith to slip. Silva then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Smith slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Silva is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Silva closes the distance and pushes Smith back into the cage.
I was talking to Silva's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Silva tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Smith pushes Silva back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Silva has picked Smith up - he's going for a ride! Silva dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Smith tries to kick Silva off but Silva keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Silva is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Silva has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Smith makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Smith misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Silva fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Smith looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
A right-left combo lands from Silva.

It looks like John Smith has been cut.

Silva clinches up against the cage.
Smith misses with the head strike.
Silva jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Smith walks away with a smile on his face. Silva gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chandinho Silva. That's going to take a lot out of him.

A little feinted left hand from Silva on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Silva throws a nice looking combination but Smith bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Smith steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Silva.

Silva tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Smith was well out of range. Poor timing from Silva.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Silva clinches up with Smith and pushes him back against the cage.
Silva tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Smith gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Silva.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Silva jumps guard and drags Smith to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Silva pushes a forearm under Smith's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Smith is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
