Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Douglas Pondingham (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arne Kjolby (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Kjolby's choice of entrance music: Killing in the name of.... I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Douglas Pondingham!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Arne Kjolby!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Joseph Jones and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kjolby fails to land the takedown.
Kjolby closes this distance looking for a takedown but Pondingham circles away.
Kjolby lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Pondingham at a distance.
Kjolby shoots in but Pondingham avoids the takedown attempt easily.
A counter left hand to the body from Pondingham misses its target.
Pondingham has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Douglas Pondingham has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Arne Kjolby.
Kjolby defending well as Pondingham loads up on a big left hand.
Kjolby's coach down at Kattegat was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Kjolby's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Kjolby shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Pondingham but Pondingham pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Pondingham bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Kjolby's head backwards.
Pondingham takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pondingham defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Kjolby.
Pondingham lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Kjolby dives in and scores a takedown into Pondingham's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Pondingham looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kjolby is one step ahead there.
Pondingham might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Kjolby might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Pondingham haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Pondingham tries to get to full guard but Kjolby has control of the leg.

Kjolby is looking for a kimura but Pondingham is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Kjolby to get the leverage.
Kjolby not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Kjolby is looking to advance position but Pondingham won't allow it.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Kjolby is thwarting Pondingham's attempts to control the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Pondingham keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Pondingham tries a low kick but Kjolby avoids it.

Kjolby shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Kjolby was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Kjolby is looking to take a break and control but Pondingham is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Pondingham regains half guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Pondingham tries to roll over but Kjolby keeps him under control.
Pondingham is working hard here to advance position.

Kjolby is trying to control the action in half guard but Pondingham is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Kjolby is looking to advance position but Pondingham won't allow it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pondingham is trying to stand back up but Kjolby is controlling him

Kjolby is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Pondingham is staying active underneath Kjolby, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Kjolby is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Pondingham is just riding it out for now. Kjolby eventually gives up the hold.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Arne Kjolby will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Pondingham throws a lazy right hand but Kjolby sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Pondingham looks to throw the jab but Kjolby is out of range.
Kjolby moves out of range of the strikes.
Kjolby looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Kjolby is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

A big right from Pondingham misses.
Pondingham scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Kjolby shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Pondingham pinned against the cage. Pondingham gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Horrible takedown attempt by Kjolby or perhaps it was just good defense by Pondingham, which made it look bad.
Pondingham swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Kjolby walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Pondingham is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kjolby.
Kjolby shoots in looking for a takedown but Pondingham manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Kjolby's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Kjolby tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Pondingham swivels and escapes.
Kjolby is breathing heavily.
A combination from Pondingham does no damage.
Pondingham looks to throw the jab but Kjolby is out of range.
That kick from Pondingham tenderised Kjolby's leg. Kjolby is trying to keep his angry face on.
A punch lands to the side of Kjolby 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Kjolby tries for a takedown but Pondingham sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Kjolby takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kjolby shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Pondingham counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Pondingham lands a head shot.
Sloppy strikes from Pondingham. Those never looked like landing.
Kjolby misses with a takedown attempt - Pondingham sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Pondingham is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Kjolby walks into a straight right hand from Pondingham.
Pondingham keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Douglas Pondingham is winning the standup battle so far.
Pondingham scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Pondingham is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kjolby.
Pondingham wants to slow Kjolby down by chopping away at his legs.
Pondingham is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kjolby can do to turn this around?
Kjolby ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Kjolby changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Pondingham tries to avoid it but Kjolby manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Pondingham to the ground. Pondingham escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Pondingham digs a good body shot into Kjolby's ribs.

Pondingham is looking to counter punch.
Kjolby closes the distance and clinches up with Pondingham, looking for a takedown. Kjolby pushes Pondingham against the cage but Pondingham circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Pondingham misses with an attempted mid kick.
Kjolby tries for a takedown but Pondingham sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Danga de danga de dang - Pondingham scores with a four punch combination!
Pondingham closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Kjolby! Pondingham dives in looking to finish! Kjolby is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Douglas Pondingham!
