The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mahone lands with a hook. Scapoli tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Mahone has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Mahone bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Scapoli's head backwards.
Mahone missing with a left hand there. Scapoli was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Mahone looks to land a right hand but Scapoli moved out of range.
Mahone misses with a hook. Scapoli ducked under it nicely.
Scapoli half committed to a counter leg kick.
Mahone thows a left - swing and a miss!
Scapoli looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.
Mahone misses with an uppercut.
Mahone throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Scapoli stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Austin Mahone seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mahone misses with a lunging right hand
and Scapoli counters with a slapping leg kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mahone looks to land a right hand but Scapoli moved out of range.
Mahone takes a swing at Scapoli's ribcage but misses.
Mahone comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Scapoli seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Mahone throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Scapoli sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Scapoli is looking to counter the offense by Mahone and move into the clinch.
Scapoli displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Mahone throws out the jab.

Scapoli fires out a quick counter leg kick but Mahone just manages to avoid it.
Mahone fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Mahone looks to score with a jab to the body but Scapoli is just out of range.
Mahone throws a nice looking combination but Scapoli bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Mahone throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

The fighters circling - Mahone throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Scapoli thinks about countering with a head kick.
Scapoli blocks a jab.
Mahone throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Scapoli uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Mahone.
Mahone rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Scapoli moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Scapoli half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Scapoli uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Mahone.
As Mahone tries to get set, Scapoli tries to push him back and clinch up but Mahone manages to avoid the attempt.
Mahone tries to close the distance and clinch up but Scapoli swats him away and circles back towards the center.

and Scapoli counters with a nice double leg into side control. Mahone won't be happy with that.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Scapoli looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Mahone is avoiding damage well.
Scapoli tries to score with some ground and pound. Mahone controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Scapoli works to advance to full mount. Mahone defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Scapoli is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Scapoli sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
A nice elbow there by Scapoli.
Scapoli looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Mahone covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
