Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Aaron Grimes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Quach Minh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Minh is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by beautiful life. Quach Minh is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Aaron Grimes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Quach Minh!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Steve Smith and Trevor Gratis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grimes swings for the body but Minh moves out of range.
A jab lands there for Grimes.

Minh has taken the fight to the clinch.
Grimes fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Grimes doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Grimes is pushing Minh up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Minh has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Grimes stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Minh wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Grimes has him pressed against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Grimes controlling the action here for a moment.
Minh tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Grimes smiles and moves away.

Grimes has taken the fight to the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Grimes breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Minh avoids a punch combination nicely.

Minh gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Grimes lands a body shot.
Minh misses with a knee strike.
Grimes tries to throw a body punch but Minh avoids it by throwing Grimes back against the cage.
Grimes has Minh pushed against the cage.
Grimes tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Grimes misses with a short punch on the inside.
Minh drops down looking for an ankle pick but Grimes pulls his leg out and moves away.
Minh should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Minh moves into the clinch successfully.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Minh has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Grimes after a bit of a struggle.
Aaron Grimes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Quach Minh.

Grimes turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Minh looks winded!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Grimes scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Minh to see if he's OK.
Grimes scoring with punches and elbows.
Grimes tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Minh on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Grimes is chipping away with strikes.
Grimes controlling the position from side mount.

Grimes stands up and beckons Minh to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Minh crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Grimes - the referee stops the clock and Minh gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Grimes. Minh manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
A head kick from Grimes lands but Minh takes it in his stride.

It looks like Quach Minh has been cut.
Grimes uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Minh.

Grimes rushes Minh and presses him up against the cage.
Grimes misses with the head strike.
Minh wants a takedown but no success here.

Grimes pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Grimes throws a right and a left that both miss.
Grimes fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Minh manages to avoid it.
Minh wants to counter the offense by Grimes and move into the clinch position.
Grimes avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Good leg kick by Grimes there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Grimes keeps Minh at a distance using the push kick.
Grimes throws a nice looking combination but Minh bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Grimes closes the distance and pushes Minh back into the cage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Grimes's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Grimes goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Grimes throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Minh's head.

Minh is rocked!
Grimes lands a jab and follows it up with a massive straight that knocks Minh out cold! Minh is crumpled in the corner, his head only propped up by the cage! That's one for the organiziational promos right there! Wow, what a finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Aaron Grimes!
An out of breath Aaron Grimes thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
In defeat, Quach Minh stepped up to the mic, saying 'fuck'.
